Three connections for the core production flow

In Studio → Connections, add the provider key and the model or voice identifier requested by that connection. Save it, then test with a short script and one scene. LongVid does not create provider accounts or transfer your consumer subscriptions.

ConnectionWhat it does in LongVidWhat you supply
OpenRouterScripts, outlines, titles, ideas and thumbnail briefsAPI key, model ID and provider balance. A vision-capable model is needed for thumbnail image references.
falFLUX scene images, thumbnails and reference-guided images; selected Kling animation and presenter shotsfal API key and available usage balance. The production selects the supported model.
ElevenLabsScene narration with a selected voice and available timing alignmentAPI key and an existing voice ID. Check voice rights and the terms of your account.

Add research and stock connections when you need them

The core writing-to-edit flow does not require every research service. Connect the sources you intend to use, and keep their account permissions and quotas in mind.

Optional connectionUseImportant distinction
YouTube Data APIPublic video metadata and channel referencesRequires an enabled API project and key; does not provide your private CTR or retention.
Nexlev APIPublic research and channel/video discoveryRequires the supported API access, not just a browser extension.
vidIQ MCP APIResearch and provider-generated title suggestionsRequires a compatible key. Provider scores are not measured CTR or Google keyword volume.
Pexels APISearch and import relevant stock footageReview the clip, licence and attribution requirements. Matching suggestions are not historical verification.
YouTube AnalyticsYour own private reports through read-only Google consentRequires operator OAuth configuration; CSV import is an alternative. No connection is assumed until completed.

An API account has its own billing

An API key authorizes software to make requests on a provider account. LongVid submits the requests you choose; the provider applies its prices, balance, model limits and account terms. Do not assume a chat or consumer subscription includes API usage. Check the API billing page for the specific account you connect.

OpenRouter lists model usage pricing and credit-purchase fees. fal prices vary by model and media size. ElevenLabs has its own API billing. These are separate services: LongVid’s use of your keys is not a promise that every provider calls its own billing model “BYOK”.

Keep credentials out of scripts and prompts

Enter keys only in Connections. Saved provider credentials are encrypted on the server and scoped to your approved workspace. Generation sends the relevant script, prompt, reference media and enabled channel context to the selected provider. Do not paste keys into a scene prompt, support message or analytics field.

To stop using a provider, remove its saved connection and revoke the key in that provider’s account when appropriate. A configured connection is not a guarantee of service availability or output quality.

Rendering is a separate setup

fal animation and ElevenLabs narration generate source media. Combining the timeline into an MP4 is a different job. LongVid currently uses the operator’s configured render worker; invited-account cloud export is still being developed. Confirm that this boundary fits your needs before requesting access.

Sources and review date
